Pursuit of Pleasure

Pursuit of Pleasure is an ongoing series of ceramic sculptures that explores the tension between control and surrender, using the body as both tool and subject. Blending glazed and unglazed surfaces, the works fuse elements of the natural world with central core imagery, drawing on organic forms to evoke emotional and bodily landscapes. Shapes often drift between petal, fold, and flesh, ambiguous forms that suggest both botanical and anatomical references without settling into either. Working with clay, a material that resists perfection, allows me to externalize internal states, translating feeling into form. Through the movement of my hands and fingers, I embrace the material’s unpredictability, creating forms that are tactile, visceral, and intuitively made. This series is a meditation on intimacy, desire, and the sensory pleasure of making.
